Caminade - peaceful farm cottage

Caminade is a 200 year old farm sitting in 2.5 acres of land, with a swimming pool and a lake.

The gite is to the front property which we completed restoring in June 2004 and opens on to the swimming pool area which is situated under trees for natural sun shade and overlooks the countryside and is completely private.

We have tried to keep the Gite within the style of the property maintaining the french style rooms and tiled floors as they were originally incorporating modern furnishings inside. The work has been done by my husband who is an experienced builder of 30 years.

There is a small lake just 2 minutes walk from the cottage where both small and large carp can be fished and is suitable for either the experienced or non-experienced fisher person.

The local area has wine tasting chateaus and St Emilion is within a 30 min car drive. For younger people there is horse riding, water skiing and quad biking. There are a number of restaurants which are renowned for their good food and if you wish to just enjoy the local area there are lots of walks to make sure you do not put on weight after partaking of the wonderful food.

You are within easy reach of Bordeaux and Bergerac. St Foy La Grande, Castillion and Montpon are approximately 20 minutes car ride and market days are on Saturday, Monday and Wednesday respectively, you can buy fresh produce such as the local cheese and wine. A small shop is situated in St Meard De Gurcon along with the Post Office and Pharmacie for bigger shops you will need to drive to St Foy La Grand or Montpon.

For the golfer there are golf clubs at Bordeaux and Razac de Saussignac both a 30 minute car ride away

Living room; Large fireplace with log fire, double settee, one chair and one rocking chair, small table and TV, DVD player and rugs.

Kitchen: Dining table, fridge freezer, washing machine and dishwasher, gas cooker and microwave.

Bedroom 1: Contains a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables an en suite shower, toilet and wash hand basin.

Bedroom 2: Contains twin beds (which can pushed together to make a double bed),  wardrobe, dressing table, bedside tables, en-suite with shower, french doors leading to a small patio with table and chairs overlooking the rear of the property.

Garden/Outside: Large garden in front and at the rear of the gite.

To book your holiday week or weeks a 50% non-refundable deposit is required with the remainder 50% to be paid six weeks before arrival. Monies can be paid in Pounds or Euros. A 200 Euros cash deposit will be required on arrival to cover for damages or breakages, this will be refunded on departure if no breakages have occurred.

All electric and gas costs are included.

All bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided. Please bring beach towels for sitting by the pool.
