Large beautifully appointed property. Beams and fireplaces, centrally heated for cooler months, baby grand piano and original works of art. You'll also find a large swimming pool and terrace, all in a setting of 20 acres, including our own lake and forest.

This property is spacious and luxurious. The house can accommodate 8 people.

There is a large 11 x 6m swimming pool which is alarmed according to EEC regulation and has sunbeds and a decked surround.

The house has beautiful characteristics and has been lovingly renovated by the owners. Despite its capacity there is enough space for people to find their own solitude.

The large lake is fenced and has resident ducks. There's also a horse, a donkey and several coypu.

L'Ane Vert translates as The Green Donkey. A rather unusual name, but one which appears to have its origins in Marc Chagall's painting of the same name (left), painted in Paris in 1911. In 2005, local artist Richard de Faut recreated the painting, albeit made to look less sinister and rather more welcoming, as a sign welcoming visitors to the property. I gather the new donkey's smile was somewhat influenced by the movie Shrek!

The history of the property suggests an artistic connection - it once housed courses for budding artists - and visitors will be delighted to see this theme continued by the current owners' collection of paintings and prints displayed around the house.

Outside of high season (July-August) we offer short-stay breaks and bed and breakfast at competitive - please enquire for more details.

Change over day is Saturday in July and Aug but can be flexible during other times. The rental period commences at 1600 on the first day and finishes at 1000 on the last day.

There is a 20% deposit required to secure the booking. Bookings above 8 persons add £100 per person per week.

A damage deposit of £300 is payable on arrival, and returned on departure if there are no costs.



During Oct - April there is a central heating charge of £50 per week in addition to the prices shown.
