St Emilion, of course, is one of the premier houses of the Bordeaux wine region and the town, with its wonderful winding, cobbled streets shouldn't be missed. St Emilion has many fabulous restaurants, sensational architecture and plenty of opportunities for wine tasting in the surrounding chateaux. La
Mirabelle is set in two acres of gardens, with vineyards on
either side. The raised decked terrace around the pool is
a day-long suntrap. Catch the sun and have lots of fun. Further
deck areas (one with purpose built bbq), tables, chairs and
parasols, provide excellent areas for relaxing and eating
al fresco. For the more energetic there is a beach volleyball/badminton
located in the centre of the garden, Petanque, football and
archery situated in our grove of fruit trees. 
There
are markets in local towns and villages virtually every day of the
week throughout the area, although our particular favourites are
the bustling Saturday market in Sainte-Foy-La-Grande (12 mins) and
the Friday & Sunday markets in Libourne (30 mins). With all
the smells, aromas and wonderful produce you will find all the colours
of the rainbow, just waiting to be taken and turned into the most
amazing delicious dishes. To purchase local wine couldn't be easier,
pop next door, Chateau La Font du Parc, consistant medal winners.Superb
every day wine,red,white and rose,or for that special occasion-the
oak aged red,is a must. 
Walking
and cycling around La Font du Parc (our local commune) or further
a field. Canoeing and kayaking along the Dordogne River. Tennis
is available at Ste Foy & St Antoine de Breuilh. Golfing: 18-hole
course at Chateau des Vigiers (20 mins), which also has a wonderful
restaurant and health spa and a 9-hole course at Chateau Les Merles.
Coast (1 hr), including Aracachon and the Dune du Playa (one of
the largest sand dunes in the world). A wonderful day out for all
the family.
