St. Méard boasts its very own equestrian centre on the edge of the village, run by Françoise, a fully qualified instructor. During the summer the centre hosts major competitions, and there's a wide range of activities for riders of all levels. I'm no expert, but even I can see there's loads of horses of all sizes for riders big and small! More information due shortly
Just five minutes north of St. Méard, the new driving range at Golf de St. Rémy is an ideal place to spend some time practising your swing or simply relaxing with a drink.

Five miles from St Méard, the Lac de Gurson is a haven of peace and quiet out of season and a full beach and leisure complex during the summer, complete with bars, restaurants, huge water chute, and swimming in the lake. Don't forget your bucket and spade!

There are any number of points along the river where you can hire canoes or kayaks - just head down to the riverside and look out for signposts! And don't forget plenty of high-protection sun cream...
