My
absolute favourite restaurant both at lunchtime and in the evening.
This is the one my family request coming to whenever they stay!
Take
a lovely drive through the countryside, down to the Dordogne river,
cross to Pessac, west of St. Foy le Grande, right through village,
- this restaurant is signed on right as you climb up the hill.
A
rustic style chalet with 2 rooms overlooking the Dordogne river
and valley. A large terrace is opened on sunny days featuring an
orientation table, you can guess where you are staying from there.
The
cuisine is a gourmand mix of special products and wonderful sauces,
served with great attention and enthusiasm.
All
meals start with an amuses bouches an appetiser from the
Chef whilst you savour the menu, Specialities goose and duck foie
gras, sturgeon, lamproie (eels).
The
quality of both paté, terrines, soup, meat and sea food is
superb . Everything is produced by Chef Michel who is passionate
about his art and the selection of products chosen for their authenticity
and flavour. He is quite happy to discuss his recipes with you!
A
marvellous choice of desserts is guaranteed to douceur vos
papilles - sweeten your tastebuds!!! And how.
The
wine list is an album containing labels and descriptions of 150
Bordeaux and local wines help is at hand should you need
it.
This
is a must for sampling some of the best the Dordogne has to offer
at wonderful prices.
