Chateau
Laulerie is one of the top-rated winemaking properties in the Montravel
area, producing a wide range of different wines, including a number
of oak-aged bottles. A family business, you are welcome to visit
and take a look around the winery and enjoy a relaxed tasting with
one of the several English-speaking family members who make the
wine.
They
also have a special scheme for English visitors which includes free
delivery to the UK at chateau-door prices - be sure to enquire,
especially if you're flying back. Prices range from €4.20 to
€12.70 per bottle, and two
of their cuvées - white and red are given 2 stars in the
Hachette Wine Guide - high praise indeed!
The
property is well signposted - heading out of St. Méard towards
Ste. Foy la Grande you take a left at Le Petit Paris, and Ch. Laulerie
is a few hundred metres along the road on the right. On your way
back check out the wonderful views over the vineyards to the village.
